Steven
"Chewy" Carter
Steven C. “Chewy” Carter, 42, died of
natural causes Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at his home in Emporia.
Steven Christopher Carter was born Sept. 20, 1961, in Kansas City, MO.
He graduated in 1980 from Emporia High School, where he had been a
member of the wrestling team. In Emporia, he had worked at PBX, Wizards
Tapes & CDs and the East 12th Avenue Coastal Mart.
Mr.
Carter’s survivors include his mother Carole Carter of Emporia; his
father, Arland Bruce Sr. of Olathe; five brothers, Michael Carter,
Gordon Bruce and Rodney Bruce, all of Olathe; Arland Bruce Jr. of Long
Beach, Calif., and Michael Bruce of Kansas City, Kan.; four sisters
Stephanie Carter-Williams of Topeka; Wathenia Pratt of Olathe; Monica
Carter of Emporia, and Rita Washington of Kansas City, Mo. His
grandparents died earlier.

Rebecca (Nixon) Gosser
Rebecca Jane Gosser, 43, died July 1,
2006 at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson. She was born January 8, 1963 in
Emporia, the daughter of Delano Abraham and Mary Jane Nixon. She was a
graduate of Emporia High School. She had attended Emporia State
University. A resident of Hutchinson for two years, she had previously
lived in Emporia. She worked for the Hutchinson Waste Water Treatment
Plant. She married William Gosser, Jr. in September 1987 in Emporia. He
survives. Other survivors include 3 sons, Nathan, Matthew, and Wesley
Gosser, all of Hutchinson, one daughter, Danielle Gosser, Hutchinson,
her father, Emporia, and 2 sisters Tammy and Jennifer, Houston, TX. She
was preceded in death by her mother.

Robin (Vierick) Niedermeyer
Robin Ranae (Viereck) Niedermeyer was
born August 21, 1963, to Donald and Georgia (Safar) Viereck in Sioux
City, Iowa. Robin lived in Hartford, South Dakota until the age of nine.
She then moved to Emporia, Kansas with her mother and received her high
school education there. Robin enlisted in the United States Army and was
active in the reserves for 10 years. She then graduated from Hair by
Stewarts. Robin worked for Great Clips in Omaha, Denver, and Blair.
While living in Denver, Robin managed other beauty shops as well. Robin
married Trent Williams in Missouri Valley, Iowa in 1988. The couple was
blessed with one son, Jordan. On Valentines Day of 2006, Robin married
Jim Niedermeyer. Jim died April9, 2006.
Robin was a first class Girl Scout at the age of 12. She played the
flute in the marching band, and she also played the hand bells and other
percussion instruments. She enjoyed reading romance novels and listening
to music, especially Cher. She also enjoyed traveling. Robin loved
spending time with Jordan and other family members.
Robin died Monday, April 17, 2006, at her home in Woodbine. She attained
the age of 42 years, seven months, and 27 days.
Robin was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; step father, Frank
Vierick; step-sister LeAnn Larson; and half-brother, Grant Viereck. She
is survived by her son, Jordan; step-son Matt (Tara) Neidermeyer;
step-daughter Madelyn (Heath) Brunow, all of Woodbine IA; two
granddaughters, Alexandra and Josephine; mother, Georgia Viereck of
Hartford, SD; father, Donald Viereck of Hartford, SD; 10 siblings,
Christine (Stew) Turnwall, Darrel (Lynn) Viereck , Patricia (Ron)
Crider, and Linda Carmon, all of Sioux Falls, SD, Mark (Anna) Meeter of
Williamsburg, VA, Carmen (Steve) Crowne of Hartford, SD, Sharol (Bill)
Cunningham of Prairie Grove, AR, Allen (Jane) Viereck of Yankton, SD,
Kathy (Allen) Rippentrop of Tea, SD, Mark Viereck of Rapid City, SD; and
many other relatives and friends.

Lori (Wecker) Schondelmeier
Lori L. Schondelmeier, 33, of Emporia
died Aug. 25, 1996, at her home. An autopsy was performed with results
unavailable.
Mrs. Schondelmeier was a program technician at Lyon County Court
Services. She lived in Lyon County most of her life and moved from Olpe
to Emporia in 1974.
Lori Lynn Wecker, the daughter of Leo Joseph and Marilyn Elizabeth
Fowler Wecker, was born Feb. 12, 1963, at Emporia. She graduated from
Emporia High School in 1981.
She married Mark David Schondelmeier on April 16, 1988 at Emporia.
Mrs. Schondelmeier is survived by her husband and children, Adam and
Amanda Schondelmeier, of the home, her mother Marilyn Humphrey of
Emporia; her father, Leo Wecker of Leavenworth; a sister, Julie Arndt of
Emporia; a brother, Curt Wecker of Olathe; a stepsister, Susan Walburn
of Emporia; a stepbrother, Jeff Humphrey of Emporia; her grandmother,
Geraldine Fowler of Neosho, Mo; and her step grandfather, Bill Humphrey
of Bradyville, Iowa. Her grandparents, Harold and Kathryn Wecker and
Harold Fowler, died earlier.
